Narrative:
Captain emergency authority/authorized. Location: R591 in the vicinity of adnip intersection. We were unable to obtain ATC clearance for deviation of thunderstorm activity on R591 from the vicinity of adnip intersection to adgor intersection. We then advised ATC of our intention to deviate north of the track and reported our abeam position for adnip and adgor in subsequent position reports.
