Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff. Aircraft was picking up speed down runway (everything was normal), and suddenly, the brakes were set. We didn't' pick up that much speed before braking. What we were told, was the indicator light in the cockpit showed the spoilers were up on takeoff. We returned to the gate, maintenance showed up and had an approximately 30 min delay (if that) and took off with no problems.
