Narrative:
Location: mia international. I exercised my emergency authority/authorized to land overweight. The aircraft had a problem with the #3 engine strut overheat light. I declared an emergency with ATC and landed without incident. It is my opinion landing overweight was as safe as dumping fuel to the maximum landing weight.
