Narrative:
We were issued go around instruction by hnl tower. Another aircraft was holding in position on runway 8L. Tower instructed this aircraft to clear the runway. They advised tower that they were unable. We received go around clearance at approximately 400 ft. Normal go around procedures were initiated. Instructions were to climb to 3000 ft. Requested heading from tower and was advised to fly to departure end of runway 8L and turn right 155 degrees. About 1/2 way down the runway, received a TCASII RA warning with 'climb, climb, climb' warning. We were already climbing at a greater rate than indicated RA resolution. Increased climb rate and saw a high wing light aircraft pass approximately 100-200 ft below left nose of aircraft. We were approximately 1500-1800 ft during conflict. During this conflict, tower was instructing us to maintain 1500 ft, turn right 155 degrees and contact departure. No mention of other aircraft. I advised tower of near miss and was advised to contact departure. We received a visual approach clearance and made a normal landing.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: WITH ACFT ON RWY, A LATE GAR WAS ISSUED APCHING ACFT. HE FOLLOWS TCASII IN ORDER TO MISS AN ACFT XING THE MISSED APCH PATH ASSIGNED BY TWR.
Narrative: WE WERE ISSUED GAR INSTRUCTION BY HNL TWR. ANOTHER ACFT WAS HOLDING IN POS ON RWY 8L. TWR INSTRUCTED THIS ACFT TO CLR THE RWY. THEY ADVISED TWR THAT THEY WERE UNABLE. WE RECEIVED GAR CLRNC AT APPROX 400 FT. NORMAL GAR PROCS WERE INITIATED. INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO CLB TO 3000 FT. REQUESTED HDG FROM TWR AND WAS ADVISED TO FLY TO DEP END OF RWY 8L AND TURN R 155 DEGS. ABOUT 1/2 WAY DOWN THE RWY, RECEIVED A TCASII RA WARNING WITH 'CLB, CLB, CLB' WARNING. WE WERE ALREADY CLBING AT A GREATER RATE THAN INDICATED RA RESOLUTION. INCREASED CLB RATE AND SAW A HIGH WING LIGHT ACFT PASS APPROX 100-200 FT BELOW L NOSE OF ACFT. WE WERE APPROX 1500-1800 FT DURING CONFLICT. DURING THIS CONFLICT, TWR WAS INSTRUCTING US TO MAINTAIN 1500 FT, TURN R 155 DEGS AND CONTACT DEP. NO MENTION OF OTHER ACFT. I ADVISED TWR OF NEAR MISS AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT DEP. WE RECEIVED A VISUAL APCH CLRNC AND MADE A NORMAL LNDG.
