Narrative:

On preflight of logbook, there was a write-up of possible bird strike. This write-up was about 8 log pages before my flight. When the maintenance write-up was signed off by mechanic stating no bird strike was found but a lightning strike was found on the rear of the aircraft and repaired. This was signed off but there was not a new airworthiness release signed off.
