Air Traffic Incident | Operational Error |
Narrative:
ATC cleared us to descend from 7000 ft to 3000 ft. At 5600 ft, descent was stopped and we leveled off. We saw converging traffic at 1:30 O'clock position, moving right to left at 5000 ft, about 2 1/2 - 3 NM. Simultaneously ATC said he wanted us at 6000 ft. We reminded him of his original instructions. No RA or TA from TCASII. Possible contributing factor was company traffic with similar call sign going in our same direction. Our flight number was abcd, company was flight abyd.
