Narrative:
Distractions from radar associate position training. Trainee was behind and not in tune with radar position. Also, position relief briefing was being set up. As a result, a descent clearance was issued when there was traffic. Do not allow distractions to break concentration. The training session for the radar associate position became a distraction to my position as radar controller. I seemed to spend more time fixing problems from the d-side, bad code assignment, coast tracks, speed overtakes from another sector that d-side was aware of. All these sits increased radar position workload.

Title: RPTR WAS SO DISTRACTED IN PROVIDING TRAINING FOR THE TRAINEE, THAT ACFT X WAS GIVEN A DSCNT CLRNC THROUGH ACFT Y. THIS RESULTED IN A LOSS OF STANDARD SEPARATION.
