Narrative:

Flight running late. Everyone very busy. Notified operations that help was needed from ground support for stretcher installation. Repeated attempts were necessary to get help from operations, and their support was marginal at best. Ground personnel installed stretcher with help from the first officer. This was completed properly. But, we departed without the required logbook signoff. We do not carry stretchers often. This is a first for me at this airline, and I missed catching the lack of a logbook entry.
