Air Traffic Incident | Pilot Deviation |
Narrative:
I was told to intercept extended centerline of runway 8L. I lined up and landed runway 8R. Tower advised me not to cross runway centerline due to landing traffic on runway 8R. I saw the traffic cross over me and land on runway 8L. With the low sun angle in the morning, I mistakenly lined up to the wrong runway. I had a slight head cold that may have contributed to the problem. More vigilance is required in low light conditions and with a cold starting I was probably not up to PAR.

Title: SMA PLT TOLD TO LINE UP ON L RWY, LINES UP AND ON R RWY AT PHX.
Narrative: I WAS TOLD TO INTERCEPT EXTENDED CTRLINE OF RWY 8L. I LINED UP AND LANDED RWY 8R. TWR ADVISED ME NOT TO CROSS RWY CTRLINE DUE TO LNDG TFC ON RWY 8R. I SAW THE TFC CROSS OVER ME AND LAND ON RWY 8L. WITH THE LOW SUN ANGLE IN THE MORNING, I MISTAKENLY LINED UP TO THE WRONG RWY. I HAD A SLIGHT HEAD COLD THAT MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PROB. MORE VIGILANCE IS REQUIRED IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS AND WITH A COLD STARTING I WAS PROBABLY NOT UP TO PAR.
