Narrative:
Just after liftoff, birds were ingested through the right engine causing significant vibration. I reduced power until the vibration was minimal. Declared emergency, requested fire equipment stand by. Then notified cabin crew of the situation and requested extra heads up for possible problem on landing. I also notified passenger that we were returning to boi due to the engine vibration. I requested a downwind vector to return to boi for runway 28L localizer approach. We completed engine shutdown abnormal procedure, but kept the engine running at idle power. Landed at boi, cleared the runway, then shut the right engine down. Inspection of the engine showed we had ingested birds through the fan section of the right engine bending some fan blades. Engine temperatures and pressures remained normal throughout the leg. The engine remained intact.

Title: B767 INGESTS BIRDS ON TKOF BOI, DECLARES EMER AND RETURNS TO LAND.
Narrative: JUST AFTER LIFTOFF, BIRDS WERE INGESTED THROUGH THE R ENG CAUSING SIGNIFICANT VIBRATION. I REDUCED PWR UNTIL THE VIBRATION WAS MINIMAL. DECLARED EMER, REQUESTED FIRE EQUIP STAND BY. THEN NOTIFIED CABIN CREW OF THE SIT AND REQUESTED EXTRA HEADS UP FOR POSSIBLE PROB ON LNDG. I ALSO NOTIFIED PAX THAT WE WERE RETURNING TO BOI DUE TO THE ENG VIBRATION. I REQUESTED A DOWNWIND VECTOR TO RETURN TO BOI FOR RWY 28L LOC APCH. WE COMPLETED ENG SHUTDOWN ABNORMAL PROC, BUT KEPT THE ENG RUNNING AT IDLE PWR. LANDED AT BOI, CLRED THE RWY, THEN SHUT THE R ENG DOWN. INSPECTION OF THE ENG SHOWED WE HAD INGESTED BIRDS THROUGH THE FAN SECTION OF THE R ENG BENDING SOME FAN BLADES. ENG TEMPS AND PRESSURES REMAINED NORMAL THROUGHOUT THE LEG. THE ENG REMAINED INTACT.
