Narrative:

During preflight briefing, I thought the NOTAM was 'runway 27L/9R closed.' during flight, I determined that runway 27R was the shorter runway and was expecting to land on that runway. When center handed me to approach, they said expect a visual approach right traffic. This seemed to confirm a landing on runway 27R. However, the tower said enter left downwind for runway 27L. I repeated that back, but continued to cling to the thought that runway 27L was closed and that I would land on runway 27R, which I proceeded to do without incident. The runway looked clear and in good shape, men near working along approach end, but not a safety factor. My analysis is I hadn't flown the 441 for 8-10 weeks, was rusty, but my mind somehow heard wrong and I seemed fixated on the wrong runway. No excuse -- I made an error in not hearing correctly, but did not interrupt the airport's operations or endanger life or property.

Title: PLT LANDS ON CLOSED RWY.

Narrative: DURING PREFLT BRIEFING, I THOUGHT THE NOTAM WAS 'RWY 27L/9R CLOSED.' DURING FLT, I DETERMINED THAT RWY 27R WAS THE SHORTER RWY AND WAS EXPECTING TO LAND ON THAT RWY. WHEN CTR HANDED ME TO APCH, THEY SAID EXPECT A VISUAL APCH R TFC. THIS SEEMED TO CONFIRM A LNDG ON RWY 27R. HOWEVER, THE TWR SAID ENTER L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 27L. I REPEATED THAT BACK, BUT CONTINUED TO CLING TO THE THOUGHT THAT RWY 27L WAS CLOSED AND THAT I WOULD LAND ON RWY 27R, WHICH I PROCEEDED TO DO WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE RWY LOOKED CLR AND IN GOOD SHAPE, MEN NEAR WORKING ALONG APCH END, BUT NOT A SAFETY FACTOR. MY ANALYSIS IS I HADN'T FLOWN THE 441 FOR 8-10 WKS, WAS RUSTY, BUT MY MIND SOMEHOW HEARD WRONG AND I SEEMED FIXATED ON THE WRONG RWY. NO EXCUSE -- I MADE AN ERROR IN NOT HEARING CORRECTLY, BUT DID NOT INTERRUPT THE ARPT'S OPS OR ENDANGER LIFE OR PROPERTY.
