Narrative:
Between pevee and holtz, first officer read back a clearance to proceed direct to thermal and increase speed to 310 KTS. We turned toward thermal and just as our airspeed reached 310 KTS, the controller asked us if we were headed to holtz. We told him that he had cleared us to thermal. He said that he had cleared another flight direct thermal, not us. We were then given a heading followed shortly by clearance direct to thermal. We never did hear another aircraft on that frequency.

Title: FLC OF A 2 ENG WDB RESPONDED TO CLRNC INTENDED FOR ANOTHER ACFT RESULTING IN TURNING OFF PRESCRIBED SID TRACK FOR DIRECT ROUTING AND INCREASING SPD.
Narrative: BTWN PEVEE AND HOLTZ, FO READ BACK A CLRNC TO PROCEED DIRECT TO THERMAL AND INCREASE SPD TO 310 KTS. WE TURNED TOWARD THERMAL AND JUST AS OUR AIRSPD REACHED 310 KTS, THE CTLR ASKED US IF WE WERE HEADED TO HOLTZ. WE TOLD HIM THAT HE HAD CLRED US TO THERMAL. HE SAID THAT HE HAD CLRED ANOTHER FLT DIRECT THERMAL, NOT US. WE WERE THEN GIVEN A HDG FOLLOWED SHORTLY BY CLRNC DIRECT TO THERMAL. WE NEVER DID HEAR ANOTHER ACFT ON THAT FREQ.
