Narrative:

Due to an engine fire in-flight which resulted in an emergency landing the captain who was the PNF decided he will continue to do PNF duties during the rest of the flight. Even though memory items and engine fire in-flight checklist were accomplished the rest of the single engine operation checklist was accomplished silently and cannot recall if anything was said to that respect. However all items were done except on the part of briefing the appropriate vref speeds during or pertaining to the single engine profile. Captain recalls advising PF (first officer) about maintaining a specific airspeed prior to landing and that it was well above minimum specified on checklist. But no mention on accomplishing checklist verbally. Also, after landing and since fire was out before touchdown captain requested fire chief to advise on whether or not to taxi to the ramp, which he accepted and a normal deplaning of passenger was done. No one was injured. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the first warning received was an acrid odor followed by the right engine low oil pressure warning and 3-5 seconds later the engine fire warning alarm and lights. The reporter said the cause was a compressor case borescope plug not secured allowing the combination of hot bleed air and engine oil to mix. The reporter stated the engine was replaced due to fire damage.

Title: AN ATR42-300 ON A VISUAL APCH AT 1500 FT DECLARED AN EMER AND LANDED DUE TO FIRE WARNING FROM #2 ENG CAUSED BY AN UNSECURED COMPRESSOR BORESCOPE PLUG.

Narrative: DUE TO AN ENG FIRE INFLT WHICH RESULTED IN AN EMER LNDG THE CAPT WHO WAS THE PNF DECIDED HE WILL CONTINUE TO DO PNF DUTIES DURING THE REST OF THE FLT. EVEN THOUGH MEMORY ITEMS AND ENG FIRE INFLT CHKLIST WERE ACCOMPLISHED THE REST OF THE SINGLE ENG OP CHKLIST WAS ACCOMPLISHED SILENTLY AND CANNOT RECALL IF ANYTHING WAS SAID TO THAT RESPECT. HOWEVER ALL ITEMS WERE DONE EXCEPT ON THE PART OF BRIEFING THE APPROPRIATE VREF SPDS DURING OR PERTAINING TO THE SINGLE ENG PROFILE.
