Narrative:
Departed loz en route nonstop to mt). Near otk, I turned southwest and climbed to avoid thunderstorms ahead. I went out into the gulf of mexico approximately 150 mi before turning southeast to avoid WX and to maintain VFR. I was able to maintain good VFR and a smooth ride with my 'pick and weave' approach to the WX I encountered. West of pie an F16 pulled up beside me and followed for approximately 200 mi. I realized my WX avoidance took me through the united states ADIZ and without a d-vfr plan caused a military scramble. I attempted to reach ZMA on 132.2, but no response. When I reached mth unicom I was asked to identify myself, which I did with an explanation. The military supervisor was called off and upon landing I was asked to call ZMA and the coast guard, which I did. Both facilities expected I deviated around WX and had a radar track into georgia so I was not a threat, but caused concern because no flight plan was filed. I was more concerned about flying out of WX than I was about the ADIZ. Next time I will give more attention to this and do a better job of anticipating WX and my course. Communication by me would have solved this entire situation regarding ADIZ.

Title: SMA PLT PENETRATED GULF OF MEXICO ADIZ WITHOUT PROPER FLT PLAN ON FILE.
Narrative: DEPARTED LOZ ENRTE NONSTOP TO MT). NEAR OTK, I TURNED SW AND CLBED TO AVOID TSTMS AHEAD. I WENT OUT INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO APPROX 150 MI BEFORE TURNING SE TO AVOID WX AND TO MAINTAIN VFR. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN GOOD VFR AND A SMOOTH RIDE WITH MY 'PICK AND WEAVE' APCH TO THE WX I ENCOUNTERED. W OF PIE AN F16 PULLED UP BESIDE ME AND FOLLOWED FOR APPROX 200 MI. I REALIZED MY WX AVOIDANCE TOOK ME THROUGH THE UNITED STATES ADIZ AND WITHOUT A D-VFR PLAN CAUSED A MIL SCRAMBLE. I ATTEMPTED TO REACH ZMA ON 132.2, BUT NO RESPONSE. WHEN I REACHED MTH UNICOM I WAS ASKED TO IDENT MYSELF, WHICH I DID WITH AN EXPLANATION. THE MIL SUPVR WAS CALLED OFF AND UPON LNDG I WAS ASKED TO CALL ZMA AND THE COAST GUARD, WHICH I DID. BOTH FACILITIES EXPECTED I DEVIATED AROUND WX AND HAD A RADAR TRACK INTO GEORGIA SO I WAS NOT A THREAT, BUT CAUSED CONCERN BECAUSE NO FLT PLAN WAS FILED. I WAS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT FLYING OUT OF WX THAN I WAS ABOUT THE ADIZ. NEXT TIME I WILL GIVE MORE ATTN TO THIS AND DO A BETTER JOB OF ANTICIPATING WX AND MY COURSE. COM BY ME WOULD HAVE SOLVED THIS ENTIRE SIT REGARDING ADIZ.
