Narrative:
On descent into aao, ict approach gave us an 'expect clearance for the GPS runway 18 approach.' I was training the copilot to program the radio for the approach. We were in moderate turbulence, solid IMC, and in the midst of low level thunderstorms. The copilot couldn't program the approach and things were fairly bumpy and hectic. The GPS approach was incorrectly set up and I flew the wrong altitudes and headings. Corrections were made to a successful completion. The corrective action is to be better trained and prepared not only as the pilot, but also as the instructor.
