Narrative:
Responded to a TCASII RA, climbed 500 ft to FL285 to comply. Flight was climbing below us to FL270 when RA was received, but noted that the aircraft was 700 ft below us as we began to climb. We notified ZID and returned to FL280 without further incident.

Title: MD80 RECEIVED TCASII RA CAUSED BY TFC BELOW OVERSHOOTING ITS ASSIGNED ALT DURING CLB.
Narrative: RESPONDED TO A TCASII RA, CLBED 500 FT TO FL285 TO COMPLY. FLT WAS CLBING BELOW US TO FL270 WHEN RA WAS RECEIVED, BUT NOTED THAT THE ACFT WAS 700 FT BELOW US AS WE BEGAN TO CLB. WE NOTIFIED ZID AND RETURNED TO FL280 WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
