Narrative:

After verifying we had the airport in sight, we were cleared for the visual approach to stl runway 30L. We were arriving from the south. Apparently a BE1900 was cleared for visual runway 30R. We were not told of possible conflicting/converging traffic from north for parallel runway. At about time of joining lda we received a TA, followed immediately by an RA to descend. We did, rapidly, which was followed immediately by level, then climb, by which time traffic was insight about 200-300 ft to our right, at which time we remained clear of traffic visually. Traffic was at approximately same altitude, descending as we were on approach. We responded immediately to RA's which probably would not have been necessary had we been informed of traffic and the possibility of a potential conflict with converging traffic.

Title: AN ACR FLC COMES WITHIN 300 FT OF AN APCHING BE1900 WHILE ON A VISUAL FOR RWY 30L AT STL, MO.

Narrative: AFTER VERIFYING WE HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT, WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH TO STL RWY 30L. WE WERE ARRIVING FROM THE S. APPARENTLY A BE1900 WAS CLRED FOR VISUAL RWY 30R. WE WERE NOT TOLD OF POSSIBLE CONFLICTING/CONVERGING TFC FROM N FOR PARALLEL RWY. AT ABOUT TIME OF JOINING LDA WE RECEIVED A TA, FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY AN RA TO DSND. WE DID, RAPIDLY, WHICH WAS FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY LEVEL, THEN CLB, BY WHICH TIME TFC WAS INSIGHT ABOUT 200-300 FT TO OUR R, AT WHICH TIME WE REMAINED CLR OF TFC VISUALLY. TFC WAS AT APPROX SAME ALT, DSNDING AS WE WERE ON APCH. WE RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY TO RA'S WHICH PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN NECESSARY HAD WE BEEN INFORMED OF TFC AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH CONVERGING TFC.
