Narrative:
During rollout following ILS approach to runway 17 pns, for reason unknown, engine stopped. During rollout before engine stopped, tower asked if I was going to FBO and I replied 'yes.' as controller issued taxi instructions, engine began to stop, and I tried to keep it running, but could not, so I exited the runway as quickly as possible so as not to block active runway. Controller was quite agitated, as I had not followed his instructions but, I really never heard them, and never acknowledged them, or read them back. I cleared the active runway, explained the situation to the controller. I restarted the engine, and was able to taxi normally to the gate. Contributing factors: 1) I wanted to clear the runway as soon as possible, that just happened to be another runway (that was not active). 2) controller should not issue taxi instructions during rollout, only after aircraft has reached taxi speed. 3) fuel was not an issue, there was plenty of fuel on board, and I have receipts to prove it!

Title: AN ATP RATED PLT FLYING AN UNIDENTED 4 PLACE SINGLE ENG ACFT IS NOT ABLE TO COMPLY WITH ATC REQUEST FOR EXITING RWY AFTER LNDG.
Narrative: DURING ROLLOUT FOLLOWING ILS APCH TO RWY 17 PNS, FOR REASON UNKNOWN, ENG STOPPED. DURING ROLLOUT BEFORE ENG STOPPED, TWR ASKED IF I WAS GOING TO FBO AND I REPLIED 'YES.' AS CTLR ISSUED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS, ENG BEGAN TO STOP, AND I TRIED TO KEEP IT RUNNING, BUT COULD NOT, SO I EXITED THE RWY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE SO AS NOT TO BLOCK ACTIVE RWY. CTLR WAS QUITE AGITATED, AS I HAD NOT FOLLOWED HIS INSTRUCTIONS BUT, I REALLY NEVER HEARD THEM, AND NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED THEM, OR READ THEM BACK. I CLRED THE ACTIVE RWY, EXPLAINED THE SIT TO THE CTLR. I RESTARTED THE ENG, AND WAS ABLE TO TAXI NORMALLY TO THE GATE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: 1) I WANTED TO CLR THE RWY ASAP, THAT JUST HAPPENED TO BE ANOTHER RWY (THAT WAS NOT ACTIVE). 2) CTLR SHOULD NOT ISSUE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS DURING ROLLOUT, ONLY AFTER ACFT HAS REACHED TAXI SPD. 3) FUEL WAS NOT AN ISSUE, THERE WAS PLENTY OF FUEL ON BOARD, AND I HAVE RECEIPTS TO PROVE IT!
