Narrative:

After landing and exiting runway 10 at bwi we were told to taxi to our gate. There were a large number of construction barricades with flashing lights on the ramp and taxiway near the entrance to our terminal ramp. It was dark and difficult to see the taxiway because of the construction. I had not flown into bwi recently and had forgotten that the area where I entered the ramp was restr to parking only. Ground control was busy, but I should have stopped and confirmed the taxiway entrance onto the ramp. Several txwys converge in that area, so at night with construction it is difficult to see the proper ramp entrance. Better markings would also have helped.
