Narrative:
After receiving climb clearance from FL330 to FL370, we were given a frequency change to 120.07. We checked in and center's response was unintelligible to us. We checked in again and center then gave us an immediate turn to 070 degrees which was a left turn of approximately 30-40 degrees. As we started the turn, we received a TCASII advisory and noted an aircraft approximately 5 NM to our right side. That aircraft queried ATC about us asking if we were climbing through his altitude, which we were. We received only an advisory -- not an RA, and the other aircraft did not report an RA either -- but separation as we passed was about 5 NM. We assume no conflict occurred since nothing more was said by ATC.

Title: ARTCC CTLR CLRS A B757 TO CLB FROM FL330 TO FL370 WHEN ANOTHER ACFT WAS LEVEL AT AN INTERMEDIATE ALT COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE NEXT CTLR TURNED THE RPTR FROM THE ONCOMING ACFT IN ORDER TO PROVIDE SEPARATION.
Narrative: AFTER RECEIVING CLB CLRNC FROM FL330 TO FL370, WE WERE GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE TO 120.07. WE CHKED IN AND CTR'S RESPONSE WAS UNINTELLIGIBLE TO US. WE CHKED IN AGAIN AND CTR THEN GAVE US AN IMMEDIATE TURN TO 070 DEGS WHICH WAS A L TURN OF APPROX 30-40 DEGS. AS WE STARTED THE TURN, WE RECEIVED A TCASII ADVISORY AND NOTED AN ACFT APPROX 5 NM TO OUR R SIDE. THAT ACFT QUERIED ATC ABOUT US ASKING IF WE WERE CLBING THROUGH HIS ALT, WHICH WE WERE. WE RECEIVED ONLY AN ADVISORY -- NOT AN RA, AND THE OTHER ACFT DID NOT RPT AN RA EITHER -- BUT SEPARATION AS WE PASSED WAS ABOUT 5 NM. WE ASSUME NO CONFLICT OCCURRED SINCE NOTHING MORE WAS SAID BY ATC.
