Narrative:

On landing in phx, the aircraft's thrust reverser bucket(south) apparently contacted the runway. I was the PNF. Captain (PF) likes to land in a nose high attitude. Apparently, he deployed the thrust reversers after landing while still in a nose high attitude. The damage was discovered by the new crew during their preflight inspection. We had received no abnormal indications (noises, warning lights, vibrations) during the landing that indicated a problem. Company is now investigating the incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the deflector door problem was not discovered until the outbound crew reported the thrust reverser unlock lights were illuminated during the preflight check. The reporter said maintenance discovered the lower thrust reverser deflector doors damaged from striking the runway. The reporter said the reversers were deployed with the aircraft in a nose high attitude. The reporter stated no abnormal noise or vibration was noted during reverser deployment and reverser indications were normal.

Title: A B737-200 WHILE BEING CHKED FOR REVERSER UNLOCK LIGHTS A TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THE LOWER THRUST REVERSER DEFLECTOR DOORS ON #1 AND #2 ENGS HAD STRUCK THE GND INCURRING DAMAGE.

Narrative: ON LNDG IN PHX, THE ACFT'S THRUST REVERSER BUCKET(S) APPARENTLY CONTACTED THE RWY. I WAS THE PNF. CAPT (PF) LIKES TO LAND IN A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE. APPARENTLY, HE DEPLOYED THE THRUST REVERSERS AFTER LNDG WHILE STILL IN A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE. THE DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED BY THE NEW CREW DURING THEIR PREFLT INSPECTION. WE HAD RECEIVED NO ABNORMAL INDICATIONS (NOISES, WARNING LIGHTS, VIBRATIONS) DURING THE LNDG THAT INDICATED A PROB. COMPANY IS NOW INVESTIGATING THE INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE DEFLECTOR DOOR PROB WAS NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL THE OUTBOUND CREW RPTED THE THRUST REVERSER UNLOCK LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED DURING THE PREFLT CHK. THE RPTR SAID MAINT DISCOVERED THE LOWER THRUST REVERSER DEFLECTOR DOORS DAMAGED FROM STRIKING THE RWY. THE RPTR SAID THE REVERSERS WERE DEPLOYED WITH THE ACFT IN A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE. THE RPTR STATED NO ABNORMAL NOISE OR VIBRATION WAS NOTED DURING REVERSER DEPLOYMENT AND REVERSER INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL.
