Narrative:

Following normal start, we received 'all clear' salute from ground agent and taxi clearance from ground control. During taxi, our company operations called and informed us our tail stand was still on the airplane. Ground control cleared us to taxi back. The stand was removed, and we subsequently made a normal takeoff. The removal of the tail stand is the responsibility of the ground agents and its removal is communicated to the flight crew by the 'all clear' salute. Attention to SOP and detail by ground agents would prevent this from recurring.
