Narrative:
During the flight planning processes for a flight from iah-mfe, I was interrupted numerous times by in-flight calls due to rertes and normal radio traffic with our flts (which we give priority to). Later when I went back to flight plan for this flight, the WX was good at destination and I forgot to add an alternate, as mfe is a single runway airport. It wasn't until I was planning the same flight on nov/xb/99 that I remembered that I had not given the flight on the nov/xa/00 the appropriate alternate per the far's. The biggest problem, besides being a new dispatcher and having so much to remember, is the sheer volume of releases each dispatcher has to keep up with on a daily basis no matter what else is going on.

Title: AN ACR DISPATCHER REALIZED HE HAD FAILED TO INCLUDE AN ALTERNATE ARPT FOR A SINGLE RWY ARPT.
