Narrative:
The landing gear failed to retract upon departure from mco. I declared an emergency and requested a return to the airport. I then discovered the landing gear alternate release door open. I closed the door and the gear retracted normally. We canceled the emergency and continued the flight uneventfully to tcb.

Title: DEHAVILLAND PLT UNABLE TO RETRACT LNDG GEAR.
Narrative: THE LNDG GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT UPON DEP FROM MCO. I DECLARED AN EMER AND REQUESTED A RETURN TO THE ARPT. I THEN DISCOVERED THE LNDG GEAR ALTERNATE RELEASE DOOR OPEN. I CLOSED THE DOOR AND THE GEAR RETRACTED NORMALLY. WE CANCELED THE EMER AND CONTINUED THE FLT UNEVENTFULLY TO TCB.
