Narrative:
Hydraulic light on. Hydraulic problem. Advised ATC to forward information to midland airport for precautionary emergency landing. Approximately 5 mins later, flight attendant advised a passenger was having difficulty in breathing. We advised approach we were declaring an emergency. We landed without incident. Paramedics met aircraft to assist medical emergency. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was a saab 340B and the cause of the hydraulic low pressure warning light was the failure of the low pressure limit switch. The reporter said this switches on the electric hydraulic pump when pressure drops to 1800 psi. The reporter stated the passenger was met and treated by paramedics on arrival and appeared to be recovered. Callback conversation with reporter acn 455871 revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was a saab 340B and was not aware of the component failure that resulted in the loss of hydraulic pressure. The reporter said the report was written in the logbook and left for the mechanics.

Title: A SAAB 340B IN CRUISE AT 12000 FT DECLARED AN EMER DUE TO A LOW HYD PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT FOLLOWED BY A PAX BREATHING EMER.
Narrative: HYD LIGHT ON. HYD PROB. ADVISED ATC TO FORWARD INFO TO MIDLAND ARPT FOR PRECAUTIONARY EMER LNDG. APPROX 5 MINS LATER, FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED A PAX WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY IN BREATHING. WE ADVISED APCH WE WERE DECLARING AN EMER. WE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. PARAMEDICS MET ACFT TO ASSIST MEDICAL EMER. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A SAAB 340B AND THE CAUSE OF THE HYD LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WAS THE FAILURE OF THE LOW PRESSURE LIMIT SWITCH. THE RPTR SAID THIS SWITCHES ON THE ELECTRIC HYD PUMP WHEN PRESSURE DROPS TO 1800 PSI. THE RPTR STATED THE PAX WAS MET AND TREATED BY PARAMEDICS ON ARR AND APPEARED TO BE RECOVERED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR ACN 455871 REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A SAAB 340B AND WAS NOT AWARE OF THE COMPONENT FAILURE THAT RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF HYD PRESSURE. THE RPTR SAID THE RPT WAS WRITTEN IN THE LOGBOOK AND LEFT FOR THE MECHS.
