Narrative:
On dec/xa/99 I was landing at the marina municipal airport. After touching down on the runway and rolling a short distance, the right main gear collapsed causing the plane to veer right. The plane slid to the right side of the runway and stopped. There was no fire nor was anyone injured. The NTSB was contacted. The plane was then removed from the runway. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he had contacted both the NTSB and FAA FSDO after the incident. The FAA stated that they had examined the aircraft and determined that the damage did not fit the accident classification and that the aircraft records disclosed that the landing retraction mechanism had been worked on a few days earlier since there were unrpted problems. The NTSB advised that the occurrence would be classified only as an incident. He has heard nothing further with regard to the reason for the collapsed gear.

Narrative: ON DEC/XA/99 I WAS LNDG AT THE MARINA MUNICIPAL ARPT. AFTER TOUCHING DOWN ON THE RWY AND ROLLING A SHORT DISTANCE, THE R MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING THE PLANE TO VEER R. THE PLANE SLID TO THE R SIDE OF THE RWY AND STOPPED. THERE WAS NO FIRE NOR WAS ANYONE INJURED. THE NTSB WAS CONTACTED. THE PLANE WAS THEN REMOVED FROM THE RWY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE HAD CONTACTED BOTH THE NTSB AND FAA FSDO AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE FAA STATED THAT THEY HAD EXAMINED THE ACFT AND DETERMINED THAT THE DAMAGE DID NOT FIT THE ACCIDENT CLASSIFICATION AND THAT THE ACFT RECORDS DISCLOSED THAT THE LNDG RETRACTION MECHANISM HAD BEEN WORKED ON A FEW DAYS EARLIER SINCE THERE WERE UNRPTED PROBS. THE NTSB ADVISED THAT THE OCCURRENCE WOULD BE CLASSIFIED ONLY AS AN INCIDENT. HE HAS HEARD NOTHING FURTHER WITH REGARD TO THE REASON FOR THE COLLAPSED GEAR.
