Narrative:
I was involved in the incorrect 1ST fan blade assembly installation on aircraft xyz #3 engine. The crew chief had checked the serial number for a match and I was told to install the assembly.

Title: A B727-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN INCORRECT FIRST STAGE FAN ASSEMBLY INSTALLED ON #3 ENG DUE TO AN OVERHAUL SHOP PAPERWORK TRACKING ERROR.
Narrative: I WAS INVOLVED IN THE INCORRECT 1ST FAN BLADE ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION ON ACFT XYZ #3 ENG. THE CREW CHIEF HAD CHKED THE SERIAL NUMBER FOR A MATCH AND I WAS TOLD TO INSTALL THE ASSEMBLY.
