Narrative:
On flight following en route from pwm to frr via refueling stop at pou, experienced master fuse failure. Aircraft electrical system remained operable on battery. Diverted to abe. Landed successfully. Abe ATC scrambled emergency vehicles, although no emergency was declared or implied. Diverted to abe after requesting closer airports from abe ATC. After landing and securing aircraft at hangar at abe, spent night in motel. Returned to abe/aircraft next morning. Was unable to replace blown fuse. Recharged battery, started plane. Checked all instruments. All 'a-ok.' got clearance from abe clearance delivery, taxied and took off uneventfully. Cruised at 4500 ft to frr. Landed uneventfully and contacted FSS. Requested they contact abe to let them know we arrived in frr safely. Immediately secured aircraft at frr maintenance hangar. Next business day, met with mechanic -discussed problem, ordered 50 amp alternator converter kit for immediate installation. Fuse and fuse holder replaced by mechanic.
