Narrative:
Understood bwi approach to say 'intercept V44.' so we turned to a 90 degree heading to intercept V44 southeast of wooly intersection. Bwi approach then wanted to know why we turned. There was a miscom of some sort. Factors leading to this could be human error on the part of the controller and or pilots involved.
