Narrative:
Prior to landing at stevens village, ak (svs), I overflew the full length of runway 7/25 to visually inspect its condition. The runway appeared to have been free of snow, and in acceptable shape for landing. The field was approached for a normal landing in a soft-field confign. Shortly after touchdown, the left main wheel entered a snow bank. The airplane veered to the left, directional control was maintained by the use of a combination of a power application and full rudder deflection. Upon shutting the aircraft down, inspection revealed minor abrasion to a propeller blade. The propeller was dressed (pilot is a licensed a&P mechanic) and found to be in good shape. No other damage was found. The aircraft was returned to base, where I made a PIREP to fai FSS requesting that a NOTAM be issued. Contributing factors: runway was reported by lcls to be plowed and in good shape. Other aircraft were reported to have been in. This airport needs to be maintained better than it presently is, and a NOTAM regarding its actual condition should have been issued by the manager.

Title: SMA PLT HIT A SNOW BANK ON LNDG AT SVS.
Narrative: PRIOR TO LNDG AT STEVENS VILLAGE, AK (SVS), I OVERFLEW THE FULL LENGTH OF RWY 7/25 TO VISUALLY INSPECT ITS CONDITION. THE RWY APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN FREE OF SNOW, AND IN ACCEPTABLE SHAPE FOR LNDG. THE FIELD WAS APCHED FOR A NORMAL LNDG IN A SOFT-FIELD CONFIGN. SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, THE L MAIN WHEEL ENTERED A SNOW BANK. THE AIRPLANE VEERED TO THE L, DIRECTIONAL CTL WAS MAINTAINED BY THE USE OF A COMBINATION OF A PWR APPLICATION AND FULL RUDDER DEFLECTION. UPON SHUTTING THE ACFT DOWN, INSPECTION REVEALED MINOR ABRASION TO A PROP BLADE. THE PROP WAS DRESSED (PLT IS A LICENSED A&P MECH) AND FOUND TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS FOUND. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO BASE, WHERE I MADE A PIREP TO FAI FSS REQUESTING THAT A NOTAM BE ISSUED. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: RWY WAS RPTED BY LCLS TO BE PLOWED AND IN GOOD SHAPE. OTHER ACFT WERE RPTED TO HAVE BEEN IN. THIS ARPT NEEDS TO BE MAINTAINED BETTER THAN IT PRESENTLY IS, AND A NOTAM REGARDING ITS ACTUAL CONDITION SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED BY THE MGR.
