Narrative:

Taxi clearance after landing bos. After landing on runway 4R, cleared on taxiway Y high speed intercepting runway 33R. Told by tower to taxi behind the air carrier aircraft on taxiway north and contact ground control. As we were crossing runway 33L I realized that the first officer had not switched to ground control. Runway 33L did not appear to be in use but that portion of our taxi was without ATC control. When we did switch to ground control we were cleared via txwys K and C to ramp with no further comment from ground control.

Title: FK10 CREW WAS SLOW IN ESTABLISHING COM WITH BOS GND CTL.

Narrative: TAXI CLRNC AFTER LNDG BOS. AFTER LNDG ON RWY 4R, CLRED ON TXWY Y HIGH SPD INTERCEPTING RWY 33R. TOLD BY TWR TO TAXI BEHIND THE ACR ACFT ON TXWY N AND CONTACT GND CTL. AS WE WERE XING RWY 33L I REALIZED THAT THE FO HAD NOT SWITCHED TO GND CTL. RWY 33L DID NOT APPEAR TO BE IN USE BUT THAT PORTION OF OUR TAXI WAS WITHOUT ATC CTL. WHEN WE DID SWITCH TO GND CTL WE WERE CLRED VIA TXWYS K AND C TO RAMP WITH NO FURTHER COMMENT FROM GND CTL.
