Narrative:
Aircraft xyz arrived ZZZ with #3 engine aft blowout panel loose. The engine was open and inspected for damage. All pneumatic duct and valves were operated and #3 engine was ran at high power for leak check. After the run, everything checked good. The loose blowout panel was removed, straightened, reinstalled and secured. I was under the assumption that my recertification action was airworthy, but as a precautionary follow-up, I incorrectly xferred this item to the open item list. This fact did not affect aircraft xyz airworthiness, but did violate the MEL/oil established procedures.
