Narrative:
We normally leave from the outstation in the evening, fly to the hub and wait for approximately 3 hours. We then fly back to the outstation. On this morning, other aircraft were delayed due to WX. This made them late, we were delayed leaving the hub by about 3 hours and then another 45 mins or so due to a mechanical delay. For this night we flew a total of about 6 1/2 hours. We then had about 9 hours off. The following night, we left on time and left the hub slightly early. This created a situation where within a certain time period we flew over 8 hours by about 1 1/2 hours. This was due to the rolling 24 hour clock. We did not realize this until the dispatcher paged us and notified us we were over 8 hours. What also added to this was that we were diverted outbound the first morning and inbound the second. I think this may be prevented in the future by better communications with dispatch and keeping a personal log on the 24 hour clock.
