Narrative:
After initial throttle application for a static runup and release of the brakes for takeoff (+/-10 KIAS), I relinquished the throttles to the captain. Just after xfer, a master caution light illuminated and a message on the overhead panel came on. The captain immediately started retarding the throttle (later conveyed that he thought there was an engine problem). The overhead light illuminated was an aft cargo door light. As soon as the captain realized this, he advanced the throttles again and engaged the autothrottle. We continued the takeoff without further incident and the caution light went out after liftoff. This occurrence happened in a span of about 5 seconds. After further discussion with the captain, we both decided that the captain should have made better analysis of the problem prior to taking any action.
