Narrative:
Visual approach clearance with a speed restr and instruction to contact tower were received turning 10 NM final for runway 16R. PNF, (captain), failed to contact tower, and we landed on runway 16R without clearance. First indication was approach calling us after we cleared the runway. We observed no conflicting traffic, and believed the omission to have caused no operational difficulties. I believe a contributing factor was complacency flying a very familiar approach, also it was our last leg (get-there-itis).
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FK28 FLT LANDED WITHOUT RECEIVING A LNDG CLRNC FROM ATC.
Narrative: VISUAL APCH CLRNC WITH A SPD RESTR AND INSTRUCTION TO CONTACT TWR WERE RECEIVED TURNING 10 NM FINAL FOR RWY 16R. PNF, (CAPT), FAILED TO CONTACT TWR, AND WE LANDED ON RWY 16R WITHOUT CLRNC. FIRST INDICATION WAS APCH CALLING US AFTER WE CLRED THE RWY. WE OBSERVED NO CONFLICTING TFC, AND BELIEVED THE OMISSION TO HAVE CAUSED NO OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES. I BELIEVE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS COMPLACENCY FLYING A VERY FAMILIAR APCH, ALSO IT WAS OUR LAST LEG (GET-THERE-ITIS).
