Narrative:
Completed a landing at lax without talking to the control tower. Unfamiliar with an east landing at lax and new to the aircraft. We were held high on approach and close in to the runway to follow another B757 when we had him in sight. We were rushed to find the traffic, get on profile, and configure the aircraft for landing -- and somewhere after being cleared for the visual approach, failed to call the tower. It was not discovered until clearing the runway and attempting to contact ground control.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF A B757 LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC DUE TO DISTR AFTER APCH CTLR INSTRUCTION TO CONTACT TWR AFTER A DELAY IN THEIR APCH.
Narrative: COMPLETED A LNDG AT LAX WITHOUT TALKING TO THE CTL TWR. UNFAMILIAR WITH AN E LNDG AT LAX AND NEW TO THE ACFT. WE WERE HELD HIGH ON APCH AND CLOSE IN TO THE RWY TO FOLLOW ANOTHER B757 WHEN WE HAD HIM IN SIGHT. WE WERE RUSHED TO FIND THE TFC, GET ON PROFILE, AND CONFIGURE THE ACFT FOR LNDG -- AND SOMEWHERE AFTER BEING CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH, FAILED TO CALL THE TWR. IT WAS NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL CLRING THE RWY AND ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT GND CTL.
