Narrative:
Cleared to descend to cross vibes at 13000 ft on the milton 3 arrival. ZNY stated something like 'air carrier, you're supposed to be at 13000 ft.' we were at 14000 ft descending to 13000 ft. However, our DME had indicated we were on the fjc 298 degree radial, 13 DME and had not reached vibes as indicated on the captain's DME. (The first officer's VOR was tuned to robbinsville.) apparently, the aircraft's DME did not match the ZNY radar.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG WAS ADVISED BY ARTCC CTLR THAT THEY HAD NOT MADE THEIR ALT XING RESTR SINCE ATC SHOWED THEM OVER THE XING RESTR FIX AT A HIGHER ALT THAN ASSIGNED. THE ACFT CAPT'S DME INDICATED THAT THEY HAD NOT YET REACHED THE FIX.
Narrative: CLRED TO DSND TO CROSS VIBES AT 13000 FT ON THE MILTON 3 ARR. ZNY STATED SOMETHING LIKE 'ACR, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE AT 13000 FT.' WE WERE AT 14000 FT DSNDING TO 13000 FT. HOWEVER, OUR DME HAD INDICATED WE WERE ON THE FJC 298 DEG RADIAL, 13 DME AND HAD NOT REACHED VIBES AS INDICATED ON THE CAPT'S DME. (THE FO'S VOR WAS TUNED TO ROBBINSVILLE.) APPARENTLY, THE ACFT'S DME DID NOT MATCH THE ZNY RADAR.
