Narrative:
On feb/mon/00, I was assigned to aircraft xyz. I was told to splice a feeder cable to #2 internal drive generator. I was also told that the previous shift changed the internal drive generator and that it was complete. In a rush perhaps, to get the aircraft to the gate I signed the airworthiness. I completed all my XXX's (turnovers). The turnovers did not indicate that the rii (required inspection item) for the internal drive generator needed to be done, nor was there an item in the logbook. Lack of communication was perhaps the problem with the proper paperwork not being accomplished. On aircraft such as the B767, ETOPS, it is mandatory that we have direct communication on these items. An rii (required inspection item) such as an internal drive generator change is required and we should have caught it.
