Narrative:
I was informed by another flight attendant that a passenger was consuming his own beer in main cabin. She confiscated the can he had and informed him that such consumption was not permitted. The stealth with which he attempted to conceal his 'stash,' made it seem apparent that he was well aware of the regulations. It would have gone unnoticed if another had not reported that the passenger was consuming a 'lot' of beer and was really getting 'sloshed.' callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the man brought the beer on in a backpack, and he would conceal the beer that he was drinking, by putting the can back in the backpack whenever a flight attendant walked by. The crew might never have known he was getting intoxicated, if the woman sitting next to him hadn't reported it. The reporter doesn't know if the flight attendant, who took the beer away, warned the man of the fines and penalties he could face. After the confiscation, he seemed contrite.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, S80, RSW-DFW. PAX DRINKING FROM OWN SUPPLY OF LIQUOR, CABIN ATTENDANT CONFISCATED LIQUOR. PAX REPRIMANDED.
Narrative: I WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT THAT A PAX WAS CONSUMING HIS OWN BEER IN MAIN CABIN. SHE CONFISCATED THE CAN HE HAD AND INFORMED HIM THAT SUCH CONSUMPTION WAS NOT PERMITTED. THE STEALTH WITH WHICH HE ATTEMPTED TO CONCEAL HIS 'STASH,' MADE IT SEEM APPARENT THAT HE WAS WELL AWARE OF THE REGS. IT WOULD HAVE GONE UNNOTICED IF ANOTHER HAD NOT RPTED THAT THE PAX WAS CONSUMING A 'LOT' OF BEER AND WAS REALLY GETTING 'SLOSHED.' CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THE MAN BROUGHT THE BEER ON IN A BACKPACK, AND HE WOULD CONCEAL THE BEER THAT HE WAS DRINKING, BY PUTTING THE CAN BACK IN THE BACKPACK WHENEVER A FLT ATTENDANT WALKED BY. THE CREW MIGHT NEVER HAVE KNOWN HE WAS GETTING INTOXICATED, IF THE WOMAN SITTING NEXT TO HIM HADN'T RPTED IT. THE RPTR DOESN'T KNOW IF THE FLT ATTENDANT, WHO TOOK THE BEER AWAY, WARNED THE MAN OF THE FINES AND PENALTIES HE COULD FACE. AFTER THE CONFISCATION, HE SEEMED CONTRITE.
