Narrative:
On climb out the PF was expediting climb rate in order to get into higher control space with the hopes of quicker turn on course. Get homeitis would be the root cause, but we reacted to the altitude alerter going off as we blasted through 9000 ft MSL (assigned). The PF pushed over with aggressive force -- our maximum deviation as we saw it was +300 ft. I had been calculating our ETA and failed to back up the PF with a 1000 ft prior call. Flight paperwork should be accomplished above 10000 ft or better yet at cruise. Supplemental information from acn 463389: I thought we had been cleared to 15000 ft via 9000 ft. At 8800 ft MSL I noticed we had been cleared to 9000 ft MSL. I made a rapid pushover and stopped at 9300 ft MSL and descended back to 9000 ft MSL.
