Narrative:
FMGC did not sequence SID fix on fly over. Although the aircraft remained in managed navigation with course centerline tracking displayed, the computed track was incorrect and did not correspond to displayed flight plan. The aircraft track was close enough to flight plan that we did not detect the deviation at larger map scale display until center let us know our track was deviating. This unknown failure mode of the FGC was written up in the ship's logbook and reported to maintenance.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN AIRBUS 320 IN CRUISE AT FL270 USING FLT MGMNT GUIDANCE CTL WAS ADVISED BY ATC THAT ACFT WAS DEVIATING FROM CLRED TRACK.
Narrative: FMGC DID NOT SEQUENCE SID FIX ON FLY OVER. ALTHOUGH THE ACFT REMAINED IN MANAGED NAV WITH COURSE CTRLINE TRACKING DISPLAYED, THE COMPUTED TRACK WAS INCORRECT AND DID NOT CORRESPOND TO DISPLAYED FLT PLAN. THE ACFT TRACK WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO FLT PLAN THAT WE DID NOT DETECT THE DEV AT LARGER MAP SCALE DISPLAY UNTIL CTR LET US KNOW OUR TRACK WAS DEVIATING. THIS UNKNOWN FAILURE MODE OF THE FGC WAS WRITTEN UP IN THE SHIP'S LOGBOOK AND RPTED TO MAINT.
