Narrative:

Crossing rod, CDI (course deviation indicator) rotated to 90 degrees (standby) position and showed inoperative flags. No annunciation on FMC or overhead of any problem. FMC appeared to be trying to navigation to a fix behind us. Switched to VOR navigation. Flight attendant reported passenger watching broadcast tv on portable unit. Tv turned off. Navigation problems coincided with operations time of tv. Returned to LNAV without further problems.
