Narrative:
Heading change issued just prior to leveloff. During leveloff climb was not fully arrested while making heading change. This caused a late leveling-off 400 ft high. Correction was initiated seconds before ATC prompt with new altimeter and altitude query.

Title: A CHARTER PLT, EXPERIENCING TURB ON DEP, CLBS ABOVE HIS ASSIGNED ALT WHILE EXECUTING A TURN TO THE HEADING GIVEN BY DEP CTLR AT OKC, OK.
Narrative: HEADING CHANGE ISSUED JUST PRIOR TO LEVELOFF. DURING LEVELOFF CLB WAS NOT FULLY ARRESTED WHILE MAKING HEADING CHANGE. THIS CAUSED A LATE LEVELING-OFF 400 FT HIGH. CORRECTION WAS INITIATED SECONDS BEFORE ATC PROMPT WITH NEW ALTIMETER AND ALT QUERY.
