Narrative:
Inboard flap track fairing was previously placarded as cdl item, and the computer generated release and placard had no mention of this in the remarks section or placard cdl required an increase in minimum fuel requirements and an adjustment to the maximum allowable takeoff weight computation. Dispatch was radioed before we left the gate, and they advised that they had nothing about this cdl item in the computer. It appears that this aircraft may have operated on multiple flts without dispatch or pilot required corrections. Perhaps this should be brought to the attention of the maintenance, dispatch, and flight department management team. Also, it may be appropriate to remind all crew members that it is important to check the respective MEL/cdl for every placarded item.

Title: AN MD11 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A WING INBOARD FLAP TRACK FAIRING REMOVED PER THE CDL BUT MAINT FAILED TO ADVISE DISPATCH.
Narrative: INBOARD FLAP TRACK FAIRING WAS PREVIOUSLY PLACARDED AS CDL ITEM, AND THE COMPUTER GENERATED RELEASE AND PLACARD HAD NO MENTION OF THIS IN THE REMARKS SECTION OR PLACARD CDL REQUIRED AN INCREASE IN MINIMUM FUEL REQUIREMENTS AND AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE MAX ALLOWABLE TKOF WT COMPUTATION. DISPATCH WAS RADIOED BEFORE WE LEFT THE GATE, AND THEY ADVISED THAT THEY HAD NOTHING ABOUT THIS CDL ITEM IN THE COMPUTER. IT APPEARS THAT THIS ACFT MAY HAVE OPERATED ON MULTIPLE FLTS WITHOUT DISPATCH OR PLT REQUIRED CORRECTIONS. PERHAPS THIS SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTN OF THE MAINT, DISPATCH, AND FLT DEPT MGMNT TEAM. ALSO, IT MAY BE APPROPRIATE TO REMIND ALL CREW MEMBERS THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO CHK THE RESPECTIVE MEL/CDL FOR EVERY PLACARDED ITEM.
