Narrative:
We were to operation out of stl to cvg. We were instructed to taxi to runway 30L by way of taxiway a, hold short of runway 30L at taxiway H, to runway 30L from the north side. As we made the left turn onto taxiway H to hold short, we were instructed to cross runway 30L. As we crossed, neither the captain or myself could make out taxiway H on the other side of runway 30L. All I saw was the edge of the runway. There was traffic on a two mi final to runway 30L. The captain immediately took the taxiway he could make out, which was taxiway north. There was no conflict. We cleared the runway and the aircraft on final landed uneventfully. However, the taxiway H was poorly lighted and difficult to make out clearly. We could have declined the clearance to cross until both of us could see the taxiway before we crossed.

Title: A CL65 FO RPTED THAT HE AND HIS CAPT WERE CONFUSED BY TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AT STL AND WERE UNABLE TO FIND TXWY H AFTER XING RWY 30L. SINCE TFC WAS ON FINAL FOR RWY 30L THEY EXITED AT THE TXWY THEY COULD SEE, WHICH WAS TXWY N.
Narrative: WE WERE TO OP OUT OF STL TO CVG. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI TO RWY 30L BY WAY OF TXWY A, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 30L AT TXWY H, TO RWY 30L FROM THE N SIDE. AS WE MADE THE L TURN ONTO TXWY H TO HOLD SHORT, WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO CROSS RWY 30L. AS WE CROSSED, NEITHER THE CAPT OR MYSELF COULD MAKE OUT TXWY H ON THE OTHER SIDE OF RWY 30L. ALL I SAW WAS THE EDGE OF THE RWY. THERE WAS TFC ON A TWO MI FINAL TO RWY 30L. THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE TXWY HE COULD MAKE OUT, WHICH WAS TXWY N. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT. WE CLRED THE RWY AND THE ACFT ON FINAL LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. HOWEVER, THE TXWY H WAS POORLY LIGHTED AND DIFFICULT TO MAKE OUT CLRLY. WE COULD HAVE DECLINED THE CLRNC TO CROSS UNTIL BOTH OF US COULD SEE THE TXWY BEFORE WE CROSSED.
