Narrative:
On takeoff roll, advanced power to 1.4 EPR and takeoff warning horn sounded. Retarded throttles, checked position of stabilizer, flaps and speed brake. Readvanced throttles to 1.4 EPR and takeoff warning horn resounded. Discontinued takeoff and cleared runway. On taxiway, recycled flaps, readvanced power to 1.4 EPR -- no horn. Recycled flaps, again advanced power to 14. EPR -- no horn. Contacted maintenance coordinator who ok'ed continued flight and advised no write-up necessary. Coordinated with atl ground and tower. Departed on runway 27L. Flew safely and uneventfully to tulsa. At no time while troubleshooting this problem was power advanced beyond 1.4 EPR, well below takeoff thrust. Supplemental information from acn 466110: the takeoff warning horn sounded before aircraft moved. This was not a rejected takeoff because takeoff power was not reached.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B727 FLC RECEIVES A TKOF WARNING HORN DURING PWR ADVANCEMENT. AFTER RECYCLING FLAPS, THE WARNING IS NULLIFIED. ATL, GA.
Narrative: ON TKOF ROLL, ADVANCED PWR TO 1.4 EPR AND TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED. RETARDED THROTTLES, CHKED POS OF STABILIZER, FLAPS AND SPD BRAKE. READVANCED THROTTLES TO 1.4 EPR AND TKOF WARNING HORN RESOUNDED. DISCONTINUED TKOF AND CLRED RWY. ON TXWY, RECYCLED FLAPS, READVANCED PWR TO 1.4 EPR -- NO HORN. RECYCLED FLAPS, AGAIN ADVANCED PWR TO 14. EPR -- NO HORN. CONTACTED MAINT COORDINATOR WHO OK'ED CONTINUED FLT AND ADVISED NO WRITE-UP NECESSARY. COORDINATED WITH ATL GND AND TWR. DEPARTED ON RWY 27L. FLEW SAFELY AND UNEVENTFULLY TO TULSA. AT NO TIME WHILE TROUBLESHOOTING THIS PROB WAS PWR ADVANCED BEYOND 1.4 EPR, WELL BELOW TKOF THRUST. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 466110: THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED BEFORE ACFT MOVED. THIS WAS NOT A REJECTED TKOF BECAUSE TKOF PWR WAS NOT REACHED.
