Narrative:
Leaving the terminal in mso, captain applied power to jet and did a hard 90 degree turn. Jetblast from airplane did minor damage to jetway. Supplemental information from acn 466238: I have been doing this procedure over the past 2 yrs and I haven't had a problem. I can't remember doing anything different this time. However, the results indicated that something was different this time. I may have been distraction by the ground controller's instructions that were explicit on how to taxi to the runway -- usually they just say 'taxi to the runway' in use. This time the controller detailed the route to use as I was in my turnout. This distraction may have caused me to delay bringing my throttles to idle in the turn. A good way for me to reinforce the breakaway procedure would be to brief my crew on how I intend to perform the procedure and the potential for damage if the procedure is not done correctly. When all is said and done, complacency was probably the key ingredient. I had done this procedure many times and it didn't seem to be too critical!

Title: TERMINAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY JETBLAST OF DEPARTING B727.
Narrative: LEAVING THE TERMINAL IN MSO, CAPT APPLIED PWR TO JET AND DID A HARD 90 DEG TURN. JETBLAST FROM AIRPLANE DID MINOR DAMAGE TO JETWAY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 466238: I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS PROC OVER THE PAST 2 YRS AND I HAVEN'T HAD A PROB. I CAN'T REMEMBER DOING ANYTHING DIFFERENT THIS TIME. HOWEVER, THE RESULTS INDICATED THAT SOMETHING WAS DIFFERENT THIS TIME. I MAY HAVE BEEN DISTR BY THE GND CTLR'S INSTRUCTIONS THAT WERE EXPLICIT ON HOW TO TAXI TO THE RWY -- USUALLY THEY JUST SAY 'TAXI TO THE RWY' IN USE. THIS TIME THE CTLR DETAILED THE RTE TO USE AS I WAS IN MY TURNOUT. THIS DISTR MAY HAVE CAUSED ME TO DELAY BRINGING MY THROTTLES TO IDLE IN THE TURN. A GOOD WAY FOR ME TO REINFORCE THE BREAKAWAY PROC WOULD BE TO BRIEF MY CREW ON HOW I INTEND TO PERFORM THE PROC AND THE POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGE IF THE PROC IS NOT DONE CORRECTLY. WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, COMPLACENCY WAS PROBABLY THE KEY INGREDIENT. I HAD DONE THIS PROC MANY TIMES AND IT DIDN'T SEEM TO BE TOO CRITICAL!
