Narrative:
We received clearance from ground control to taxi to runway 1 from the terminal. I taxied from the ramp and entered taxiway C, then I realized that taxiway C goes directly to runway 1. As soon as I saw the threshold, I stepped on the brakes. Maybe the nose of the aircraft went over the line by a couple of ft. My first officer immediately notified ground control. The controller told us to continue on runway 1, then make a left turn and exit on the first left to join taxiway a to runway 1. The controller never told us anything else. Contributing factors: failure of the captain to verify from his charts that taxiway C was the wrong taxiway despite first officer's directions to take taxiway C.

Title: DEPARTING THE TERMINAL AT CAK, FLT CREW OF CL65 CROSSED HOLD SHORT LINE OF RWY 1 AT TXWY C WHEN CLRED VIA TXWY A.
Narrative: WE RECEIVED CLRNC FROM GND CTL TO TAXI TO RWY 1 FROM THE TERMINAL. I TAXIED FROM THE RAMP AND ENTERED TXWY C, THEN I REALIZED THAT TXWY C GOES DIRECTLY TO RWY 1. AS SOON AS I SAW THE THRESHOLD, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES. MAYBE THE NOSE OF THE ACFT WENT OVER THE LINE BY A COUPLE OF FT. MY FO IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED GND CTL. THE CTLR TOLD US TO CONTINUE ON RWY 1, THEN MAKE A L TURN AND EXIT ON THE FIRST L TO JOIN TXWY A TO RWY 1. THE CTLR NEVER TOLD US ANYTHING ELSE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: FAILURE OF THE CAPT TO VERIFY FROM HIS CHARTS THAT TXWY C WAS THE WRONG TXWY DESPITE FO'S DIRECTIONS TO TAKE TXWY C.
