Narrative:
When we took off and reached 10000 ft, I heard the (1ST chime). I felt a grinding under my feet. Flight attendant #1 received a call from flight attendant #2, and told me it was grinding in the back, like trying to shift into gear. As I was going to the cockpit, the captain called me to go up front. He advised me that the hydraulics went out and we were going back to dfw. He wasn't planning on an evacuate/evacuation, but if we needed, he would use the easy victor signal. So I advised flight attendants #2 and #4 of the situation. We as a crew went over our procedures and made our final safety checks. We landed with no problems and were met by fire engines.
