Narrative:
A passenger traveling with his uncle, who was seated in seat X, reported that his uncle was having a problem breathing and was also having chest pains. He requested oxygen. I asked him if he was on medication, and he showed me a bottle of nitrostat. I immediately went for the oxygen and to notify flight attendant #1. She notified the captain and paged for a doctor. There were 2 doctors onboard. After evaluating, they recommended that we land. The captain made the decision to land in cabos. The captain had called ahead to request medical assistance and an ambulance, however, there was no ambulance when we landed and had to wait approximately 20 mins. In the meantime, the ill passenger was in a lot of pain. As crew members, I feel we did everything we could to help the passenger. However, the people involved at the airport in cabos need to come up with a better system to assist in a medical emergency.
